Geog Club 2nd Mtg with W.I.L.L, 02/04 @ 5pm


Geography Club 2nd Meeting of the Quarter!

If you are interested in Thai Cultures, Women's Roles in society and sustainable livelihoods, you don't want to miss this!

Come to this inspirational meeting in which we will learn about the "Women's Initiative for Local Livelihoods Project (W.I.L.L.). This project that focuses in helping out a group of women survivors of the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami, started in Thailand and it is been continued by a group of UCLA students. They will discuss how the project started and how they want to reach their goal to "ensure the economic sustainability of these handicraft groups in order to promote the overall sustainability of their livelihoods."

Also, they will be selling some of these handmade batiks and tie-dye products.The profits will support these micro-financing activities.

So, Hope to see you this Thursday Feb 4th in Bunche 1221-B at 5pm
